Our Gay Neighbors
Our gay neighbors and smooshed between a very tradition country, Catholic family and a very devout Mormon family. Recently they ignored our Kansas laws and ran away to Hawaii to get married. So the day they came home we vandalized their house.

| It seemed like the right thing to do. I made the hearts, my more liberal catholic partner in crime made the sign. |
I don't agree with, support, or understand their life style but luckily it is not my job to judge them. My job is to love my neighbor and I sure love having Ryan and Brandon as neighbors.
P.S. It will probably drive them nuts if they see that I posted a picture of their long grass. So on their behalf please ignore the grass they were on vacation for two weeks.

A toddler's train of thought . . .
My husband is terrible at keeping a journal and isn't into blogger but wants to remember all of the cute things our kids do so he recently started a private google+ group where he could post thoughts, pictures, and videos. I was looking through it and just had to share this conversation he had last month with our 3 year old daughter:
1
Hanna has wanted some kid scissors so she could make something. I told her on Sunday that on monday i would buy her some. I forgot both monday and tuesday to get her some, ( which she promptly reminded me when I got home from work). Finally on wednesday I got her some. she was so excited that she immediately wanted to go craft (which we did) she took a blank piece of paper and cut all around the edges. Later that night while getting ready for bed this is the discussion that followed...
Daddy I only have little kid scissors, but when I get big I will have big kid scissors, I will also have a big bed with night stands, where I can climb up. I will also have kids and be a mommy so I can tickle 'em. But right now I only have little kid scissors....

INSANITY and Air Force Fitness
Started back up with INSANITY last night and I even got Eric to do it with me. Three of my cousins, Emily, Gregg, and Scott, started yesterday too which is what helped motivate me, that and the fact that I have an Air Force Fit to Fight fitness test next month which I am totally not prepared for. So there are five of us in total it should be interesting to see how we all do.
Here are my reps from the first INSANITY fit test used to track ones progress:
Switch Kicks 60
Power Jacks 47
Power Knees 80
Power Jumps 38
Globe Jumps 10
Suicide Jumps 15
Push-Up Jacks 25
Low Plank Oblique 35
I don't think Eric would appreciate me sharing his so I wont. If you are doing this too just make sure you go a whole rep before you count it. For example on the last one bring your left leg up and back down and then your right up and back down to complete one rep.
I think I did ok considering I have three kids and haven't worked out regularly since my last fitness test a year ago, on which I scored a 98 out of 100. My goal this year was to get a 100 but that so isn't going to happen. I always do well though so I'm not too worried. The guys in my unit always give me a hard time saying a I score better because my standards aren't as high, true and I do agree with them that it should be the same standards regardless of sex. However, that does not change the fact that I usually lap them on the track. And even if I was scored on the guys chart I would have gotten a 92.2 last time which is still considered an excellent score.
Here is the link to the Air Force fitness scoring charts so you can see how you stack up. You have to measure you waist just above your belly button to get your body composition. The run in 1.5 miles which is 6 times around a standard high school track. You have one minute to do as many push-ups as you can and one minute to complete as many sit-ups as you can. On both the push-ups and sit-ups you start in the up position and count one rep when you return to the up position. You can do the test in any order you want within a two hour window.

Welcome!
Welcome to my little corner of the web! I think I like this website name better and its meaning. This is my corner, my space to put my thoughts and ideas out there. And . . . I just got a new computer! A desk top with a REAL keyboard soooo much better for blogging than my ipad or phone ugh, or even worse my broken laptop with several missing keys. So you can expect to hear from me much more! . . . Hopefully. I haven't been very consistent with blogging in the past but I feel lately like I have a lot to say and many emotions to express and I haven't been writing in my journal for quiet some time either so I really need an outlet maybe this time it will stick.

Pain
It has been over three months since my miscarriage. I wasn't very far along. My faith has helped. But I still feel like I am mourning. Every time I find out another friend or family member is expecting the emptiness in my own body feels like it will engulf me. Five families in our tree will welcome little blessings by the end of the year. And so many friends. I am happy for all of them I just don't know how to tell them through my own selfish pain.
I watched many women in my life lose pregnancies or struggle with infertility. My heart has always ached for them as I watched them push through with faith and grace. I've always wondered how they managed it knowing that if it were me I would fall apart. But many in my life still don't even know I was pregnant I appear to be just fine. It makes me wonder how many of those graceful women were falling apart on the inside too.
After a healthy baby girl and 18 months later healthy boy/girl twins the ideas of miscarriage or infertility had left my mind. I was obviously made for baby making and mothering, this was my calling to bear babies and be surrounded by little ones. So this has taken me completely by surprise.
I already have three beautiful children which should help, and it does. I know I am blessed but the pain is still there. My poor kids just get suffocated with kisses and unexpected tears as if I may suddenly lose them too.

Double Frame
1. Two old frames of different sizes.
2. Spray painted them both white. Let it dry over night.
3. Paint with acrylic craft paint. (I didn't want to have to buy anything doe this project so I used two colors and mixed them together to get the color I wanted.) 4. Before the paint dries wipe gently with a soft rag to get the glazed look.
5. Dry over night.
6. Put largest frame together with a mat. You could use either fabric or craft paper as a mat. I used paper.
7. Put together the frames with your picture in it and hot glue to to the glass of the larger frame.

Cardboard Mobile
Some times just doing a regular art project a little outside of the box :) sparks a kid's imagination

1. Cut tabs off both ends of a small cardboard box. I used a Mac & Cheese box and a fruit snacks box.
2. Cut down the side to open the box.
3. Lay the box out blank side up.

4. Decorate! I cut shapes out for my toddlers as they requested them and let them glue them to the box. (I have found that liquid glue is actually easier for toddlers than a glue stick.)
5. Cover the back completely. My girls wanted to do a rainbow but didn't want to stick to Roy G. Biv.
6. Use a hole punch or staples to attach string.
